GEA Process Engineering Inc., a full service company specializing in process systems and solutions, is seeking a North America Sales Manager at our Columbia, MD location to join our Evaporation and Crystallization Division. We were established in 1974 and promote an environment where all employees are valued and treated with respect.
The team member directs and coordinates the Sales Department to establish and maintain sales and business development methods to generate revenue to meet Evaporation & Crystallization Division goals for North America.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
Completes market analyses to determine customer needs and values.
Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
Analyzes and controls expenditures of department to conform to budgetary constraints.
Maintains basic knowledge about competitor products and activities.
Assists Marketing on advertising activities, including the approval of ads, articles, brochures and trade show displays.
Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
Suggests product research and development.
Directs sales strategy for sales projects.
Assigns sales projects to sales engineer and assists in risk analysis, project charter and stakeholder analysis development.
Delivers sales presentations to key clients with cooperation from sales engineers.
Meets with key clients, assisting sales engineers with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing contracts.
Establishes sales price by conferring with Estimating, Process Engineering, Project Engineering, Process Controls, and Design to determine hours needed to complete a project.
Negotiate project price and terms and conditions.
Approves and ensures standard wording in all sales quotations before release to the customer.
Approves contract documentation prior to turning over to Project Engineering.
Coordinates activities between sales department and other sales related units.
Training new sales engineers.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains the appropriate staffing level.
Develops employees to expand the teams long term capacity and capabilities.
Give performance feedback and completes performance evaluations in a timely manner.
Resolves internal employee conflicts.
Ensures that department is following company established Procedural Guidelines and Safety Rules & Regulations.
Monitors the departments accurate use of the LOTUS NOTES CRM Database.
Monitors the departments filing system to ensure it is complete.
Requirements:

Must have 4-year degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related.
Must have a minimum of 4 years management experience.
Must have 4
years of sales experience in the Chemical industry, ideally with capital equipment.
Must have supervisory/management skills.
Must be detail oriented.
Must possess good English language communication skills both verbal and written.
Must possess good interpersonal skills and work well in a team setting as well as independently as required.
Must be self-motivated and be able to motivate others.
Advantageous to have working knowledge of MS Office products.
