Virtual Infrastructure System Engineer with Security Clearance
We have an opportunity for a Virtual Infrastructure Systems Engineer to join our engineering organization to support the sophisticated virtualized networks that we deploy around the globe in conjunction with our aerostat platforms.
You will become the Virtualization Infrastructure SME for the deployable networks that we build and maintain.
Working in tandem with the network team and other design engineers, you will review current virtual infrastructures, architectures, designs, and operations to identify potential improvements and implement.
Your expertise will be pivotal to detailed design, configuration, integration, testing and post-deployment support of these systems.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise developing and managing VMWare virtualization architecture and infrastructure, including storage and network components.
The ideal candidate will have operated in a Mil/Gov facing role and be familiar with NIST security frameworks.
Additionally, able to serve as a backup to the network engineer.
Working Procedures:
o Inherit responsibility for the architecture of the virtualization platform for our deployable products.
o Analyze system requirements.
Leads design, development and implementation activities.
o Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans, system integration and test plans utilizing industry best practices and standards.
o Develop and maintain technical documentation.
Build procedures for related tasks.
o Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtualization infrastructure, including VM performance, network connectivity, and storage management.
o Maintain security posture for virtual environment.
o Provide tier 2 support for field deployments and engage in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
o Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in software or computer science, or related field.
Equivalent amount of education and experience may be substituted.
VCP certification preferred.
Security
or Network
certification required or be able to attain within 6 months of hire.
Experience Requirement:
Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Candidates must be proficient with VMWare ESXi, vCenter and related tools.
Proficient with storage management (NetApp) and some network management.
