POSITION
Summary:
The dynamic individual in this position is responsible for the facilitation of Technical Trainings at, but not limited to, the Corporate Customer and Training Center.
This individual will work with the training department, various company groups (Sales, Marketing, Service, and Tech Support) both at Corporate and in the Regional Offices to establish training schedules and an overall training plan that meets the Training Program needed to provide routes to proficiency for SSI employees and Distributors.
The individual will also conduct trainings that are more routine customer facing in a timely fashion to meet customer demand.
The trainings will be of the highest professional level and will adapt current adult training philosophies and utilize modern training methods such as micro-training, Socratic classroom techniques, e-learning modules, gamification, and hands-on laboratory instruction.
This position will work closely with the Onboarding and Training Specialist, the Training Supervisor, and Training Manager to create a training curriculum suitable for the Company's requirements.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining strong working relationships/rapport with company knowledge experts; in order to effectively coordinate training initiatives and programs as directed.
As well as other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
This individual must possess both experience and understanding in adult technical training techniques as well as a working expertise of HPLC, GC and GCMS instrumentation and its software, maintenance/repair, and applications.
The individual must also be proficient in computer systems, software, and standard classroom teaching aids.
They also must be well organized, possess outstanding administrative and time management skills and be able to relate well to employees.
During down times, the incumbent will work on creating courses, improving courses, and support functions for the training center including, but not limited to:
organizing appropriate training program schedules, working in the learning management system (LMS), assisting customers and employees with course registrations, assuring the internal and external training web information is updated regularly and other related administrative duties.
The incumbent will also provide back up support (be cross-trained) on other roles within the Training Department.
This role will be responsible for other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Additionally, the incumbent may be called upon to act in a substitute capacity during any absence of any coworker within the training department.
Training curricula may be established to include back to back weekly trainings to provide an optimal training/travel experience for those taking the trainings.
As such, this position will require planned absences and vacations to coincide with off weeks of the cycle.
JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Administer technical trainings, ensuring that the program maintains the same high level of professionalism and media rich content that is expected in a University-style Professional training program.
Assist establishing and planning trainings to meet customer, employee, distributor needs in a timely manner.
Evaluate and help improve upon the current Technical Training Program, by providing a positive and professional customer service experience.
This is done through addressing customer (internal and external) requests in a timely fashion.
Assist with the creation and implementation of internal training scheduling and curricula, specific to the Technical Training Programs.
Ensure that classroom, materials, and instruments/teaching aids are ready at the beginning of each Technical training day/session.
Partner with subject matter experts to produce effective training materials as required by instructors.
PowerPoint, presentations, workbooks, web-based training and other resources, to ensure that the information contained in the Technical Training Programs information stays current.
Provide back up support to the Training Supervisor on all aspects of training program including scheduling, communication, registration, attendance and evaluations.
Provide back up support to the Training Supervisor with keeping training records, web recordings and database(s) up to date and accurate.
Provide back up support to the Training Supervisor with tracking and recording all training taken by employees and customers.
Provide back up support to the LMS Training Administrator as needed - during heavy class volume or absences.
SCOPE:
This position's focus is to assume ownership and ensure the company's Technical Training Program is carried out successfully, assuring the same level of professionalism and quality control in every training session.
This position will play a key part to Shimadzu's move towards becoming the industry leader by enhancing and maintaining a strong educational development pathway for employees and customers to achieve their professional educational goals.
This role will assist the Training Team with creating a University style learning/educational platform at SSI.

Incumbent must be proficient in providing organizational and administrative support to internal (employee) and external (customer) training programs; and in particular to the SSI Technical Training Program.
Must have the ability to follow policy and procedures.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Incumbent must have a Bachelor's Degree in science, education, or relevant field, with at least two (2) years of experience working with instrumentation and training.
Ability to work with a variety of people, both internal and external; as well as, across disciplines and organizational levels.
A proven track record of both training and instrument operation is a must as well as a penchant for details and an understanding of professional customer service are required.
Dependable work ethic and ability to keep material confidential is required.
SUPERVISORY
Responsibilities:
This position has no direct responsibilities.
This position will provide back up support to the LMS Training Administrator and Training Supervisor as needed.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
