Title:
I&T Engineer KBR is seeking an Integration & Test (I&T) Engineer for the Science & Space Division. The I&T Engineer will provide support for the NOAA GOES-R Ground System. The Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) - R Series is the nation's most advanced fleet of geostationary weather satellites. The GOES-R Series significantly improves the detection and observation of environmental phenomena that directly affect public safety, protection of property and our nation's economic health and prosperity. The GOES-R Series is a four-satellite program (GOES-R/S/T/U) that will extend the availability of the operational GOES satellite system through 2036. The satellites provide advanced imaging with increased spatial resolution and faster coverage for more accurate forecasts, real-time mapping of lightning activity, and improved monitoring of solar activity and space weather. NOAA developed a state-of-the-art ground system that receives data from GOES-R Series spacecraft and generates real-time data products. This is accomplished via a core set of functional elements, which include space/ground communications, raw data processing, monitoring satellite health and safety, and commanding the spacecraft and instruments, as well as a new antenna system and a product access component.
