Children's Swim Instructor
Our mission at Goldfish is simple - teach children to be safer in and around the water, while making their experience Golden.
We work every day to make sure we provide WOW customer service and top-notch swim lessons.
But none of that matters if we don't have an amazing team - people who share our passion and commitment to making a difference with each swimmer that swims through our doors.
Schedule availability must be a minimum of 3 shifts per week, including:
at least one (1) weekday evening at least one (1) weekend day So why work for Goldfish? We pay well over minimum wage, starting at $15-18 per hour! Consistent and flexible schedule - We won't change your schedule every week! (and we're out of the water by 8pm!) Perfect after-school job! We swim in our own state-of-the-art, bright, colorful indoor facility.
It's always sunny and 90 degrees! Paid training including free Lifeguard/CPR/AED certification through Ellis & Associates! Earn shout outs, gift cards, and apparel! Get rewarded how you want! We provide your uniform! Swimsuit, rash guard and shorts! Paid Holidays for Full Time Employees! Golden Teacher, Deck Supervisor and more! What do Swim Instructors do? Teach children 4 month to 12 years old water safety & swimming techniques using the Goldfish Swim School curriculum Provide positive reinforcement to students Communicate to parents on swimmers' progress All instructors are required to get lifeguard & CPR/AED certified Lifeguard and maintain safety in the water Administer first aid when necessary Respond to emergencies in and around the pool What qualities make a good swim instructor? Patient - every swimmer learns at their own pace.
Being willing to help each student as an individual is key to their success and yours! Considerate - our best swim instructors care about their students.
It's about getting to know the kids that you see every week and being excited to see them again.
Genuine - you don't have to be especially outspoken or especially serious, just be yourself.
Different teachers can have equal success - Remember, every child learns in their own way! Responsible & Consistent - You will be responsible for not only the success of your students, but also for their safety.

The safety of our swimmers, parents and team members is of the utmost importance.
Our pools are disinfected by a Nexgen chlorination system and additionally filtrated through a UV system to provide the safest swimming environment.
Our state-of-the-art ventilation system allows fresh air to continuously circulate into our building, further minimizing the spread of any airborne virus.
Industry experts note that indoor pools are far superior at minimizing virus transmission than most indoor spaces.
Goldfish Swim School - Columbia is a learn-to-swim facility for kids ages 4 months to 12 years.
Our proven confidence-building curriculum promotes a love of swimming and teaches children to be safer in and around the water.
