Sustainability Analyst

Sustainability Analyst Resource Energy (RES) provides highly customized energy procurement and energy use and data management solutions to many of the world's largest commercial real estate companies as well as commercial and industrial businesses.
At RES, we develop and implement energy strategies that reduce expenses, minimize, and manage risk, leverage our experience and data to optimize energy use and manage greenhouse gas emissions, report on best practices in sustainability as well as generate profitable revenue streams for our clients.
These strategies include power and gas procurement, energy data collection and calculations, sustainability analysis/reporting and multiple other energy related services.
Resource Energy is seeking a motivated Sustainability Analyst with a background in the built environment or a related industry.
The Sustainability Analyst will be responsible for the development and preparation of sustainability data and metrics for clients' commercial real estate investment portfolio, with a focus on energy and water consumption.
The Sustainability Analyst will also coordinate with RES sustainability and energy analysts who will support the Sustainability Analyst in all aspects of clients' ESG program data management, development, and implementation.
This role will support and report to the Manager of Sustainability.
The RES sustainability team works with clients' ESG taskforce and/or ESG leader daily to develop and assist in all aspects of sustainability from corporate level strategy development to portfolio level ESG reporting to property level sustainability implementation.

You will work closely with our clients who range from industry leaders on the cutting edge of sustainability and ESG program implementation, to organizations just embarking on their sustainability journey.
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
Experience and knowledge of the commercial real estate industry and insight into business drivers and material ESG aspects that improve business, investment, and real estate financial performance.
Direct experience preparing greenhouse gas inventories according to the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard.
Basic understanding of commercial property operations, building energy systems, and utilities.
Ability to review large sets of data and identify trends, gaps, and other takeaways.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management.
Experience in the development and submission of annual GRESB and CDP disclosures including first-hand experience using all reporting platform prescribed tools, templates, and portal supporting these ESG disclosure submissions.
Knowledge of ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, with working experience a plus.
Bachelor's degree with a focus in Energy, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or related field.
1-3 years of direct applicable work experience executing and developing the majority of the essential knowledge and skills.
Active participation in commercial real estate energy/sustainability/ESG related industry organizations and/or sustainability-related credential a plus.
Experience in supporting real estate organizations with the development and publishing of corporate sustainability/social responsibility reports or running outreach activities is a plus.
Familiarity with all other major ESG disclosure platforms reporting frameworks such as including but not limited to GRI, ISSB, TCFD, and SASB as well as the proposed SEC climate-related disclosure proposal Demonstrated experience coordinating with and managing internal technical resources and teams to support your external communication and delivery to client ESG managers and executives.
Ability to effectively manage changing priorities to ensure client and internal needs are being met in a timely manner.
Ability to successfully manage interpersonal situations, including employee and client relationships.
Proficient in all other MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to write reports and presentations of details and summaries that identify and recommend operational best practices.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, programs, and priorities at the same time.

Working with the Manager of Sustainability and internal RES technical teams and resources to develop and execute overall client strategy, program design, and implementation and lead program implementation including securing client buy-in and approval, tracking, execution, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, program evaluation and refinement.
Utilize internal systems to accurately prepare data and metrics for disclosure in clients' ESG and sustainability reporting.
Provide timely, accurate and detailed responses to inquiries from clients and third-party assurance providers.
Overall responsibility for coordinating third party reporting to GRESB, CDP, and GHG inventories as well as CSR and ESG reports for RES clients that report.
Perform high level ESG position assessments with RES clients just embarking on sustainability or ESG programs.
Support RES technical teams in the identification and deployment of appropriate energy efficiency and sustainability measures.
Engage with clients by building and maintaining key customer relationships to create opportunities for client growth.
Visit client sites as needed to meet with the client or oversee work of our project team.
Regularly review client deliverables for quality control and budget accountability, ensuring the work is accurate, on time, on budget and meets the client's needs.
Work with and support the RES energy procurement executive and team, the Manager of Sustainability, and the RES executive team on monitoring and staying informed on emerging green building legislation, jurisdictional energy compliance reporting requirements and trends, and carbon pricing and cap and trade programs and trends.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
