Position Title Security Officers Managed by First Coast Security (FCS) FLSA Non-Exempt FT/PT Part Time Hours Per Week As needed Work Schedule Varies depending on hiring needs Position Salary Range General Responsibilities Interested in working for Public Safety at Howard Community College? Work Performed Security officers are an integral part of the College environment and must present a professional image reflective of the College.
All security officers assigned to the College need to be actively alert, attentive, responsive to all assigned duties, neat and well-groomed in appearance, courteous, personable, sensitive to the needs of students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and possess qualities necessary to meet and communicate with persons of all levels.
Prior to an officer's assignment, each officer will be screened as to military, criminal, and arrest records, as well as sex offender registry.
Drug testing will also be performed for each officer prior to assignment.
Each security officer will have a copy of their fingerprints reviewed through the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS).
Information pertaining to all records shall be provided to the employer prior to the assignment as a security officer at the College.

Possess a high school diploma, or the equivalent thereof.
Three (3) years of prior experience in security, military or law enforcement (Waiverable).
Maryland Guard Card (once hired FCS will sponsor for application if you do not have a card).
Valid State Driver license and reliable transportation.
Read, Speak, Write, and understand English.
