CFS is partnering with a non profit, in business for over 50 years, to find an Accounting Assistant to join their team! This candidate should be comfortable with AP, AR, billing, collections, and journals.
This position will begin on a contractual basis and become permanent for the selected candidate depending on performance and fit This role will begin immediately for the selected candidate Position is 100% in office in Columbia, MD 9am-5pm M-F 40 hours per week Candidates must be local to the area and have reliable transportation Job Duties of the Accounting Assistant:
Manage all invoices and prepare all check requests Maintain up to date documentation Update the daily incoming checks log Make copies for AP check for programs folders to support invoices Prepare all AP checks for mailing and file AP checks in filing folders for audit Prepare monthly deposits folders for future audits Prepare monthly reports for approval Compile and prepare routine reports and summaries funding balances Support duties related to accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
Assist Staff Accountant when needed Other duties as assigned Qualifications for the Accounting Assistant:
Associate's degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or similar field required.
Bachelor's degree preferred 1
years' accounting experience Experience using QuickBooks highly preferred Strong Excel skills Must have COVID vaccination or valid exemption and be able to pass a background check and drug screening #INOCT2023#CBOCT2023 Recommended Skills Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Auditing Billing Filing Finance Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
