Position Purpose The Market Executive oversees all C&I sales activities for an assigned territory.
This role has overall responsibility for ensuring that the Bank is generating revenue and growing the overall C&I portfolio and deposit base in the territory and is accountable for the team meeting and/or exceeding their goals each year.
The Market Executive also serves as the face of the Bank within the assigned territory.
As such, the Market Executive is charged with broadening the Capital Bank brand.
Additionally, the role ensures that the overall credit quality of the C&I portfolio meets the credit standards for the Bank.
Position Responsibilities Manage the assigned C&I team to ensure annual goals and objectives are met or exceeded and ensure that the groups are performing optimally.
Assist in creating and executing lending strategies and deposit strategies in order to increase the Bank's market share.
Work across departments to ensure proper interaction and workflow between groups.
Mentor, manage, and coache C&I Team Leaders and Relationship Managers to ensure performance is effective and creates developmental opportunities as needed, for future roles and proper succession.
Assist in providing financial consultation to customers and prospective customers to help them reach their goals as well as potentially maintain a long-term banking relationship.
Approve sound loans reflecting attention to analysis, loan structure, and pricing relative to the risk and value of the borrower within lending authority and bank loan policy or prepare quality loan presentations for credit recommendations to appropriate loan authorities.
Negotiate complex pricing, loan structure, and loan agreement issues with borrowers.
Maintain an extensive knowledge of loan policy and procedures, commercial deposit accounts, cash management, ACH policies, letters of credit, credit cards and other bank products.
Work with internal partners to help create motivational and sound incentive compensation plans and strategies.
Is thoroughly familiar with regulatory compliance matters that directly affect lending processes and is committed to complying with those requirements.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Bank to support long-term departmental goals.
Comply with all federal and state rules and regulations that effect this job position and perform the required ongoing training for those regulations as directed by the Compliance Officer.
Mentor and coach direct reports within the team.
Manage performance of the team and conduct performance reviews within the processes of the Bank.
Minimum Education & Experience At least 7
years of previous and successful management experience within C&I lending and/or Business Banking.
Experience doing business with C-Level executives and investors.
Experience in all aspects of the loan and credit process and a good understanding of how the banking industry operates.
Previous supervisory experience.
Ability to coach, mentor, develop and lead a team of experienced professionals.
Technical Knowledge and Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Excellent verbal and written communication skills Advanced underwriting skills Highly analytical in nature Understand both the structure of loans and is experienced with directly negotiating the loan terms Understanding and knowledge of loan documentation and working with outside counsel to ensure correctness Knowledge of lending procedures and regulations Travel Must have the ability to travel within the defined market area.
