At CAC, we focus on providing critical services in housing assistance, food assistance, energy and weatherization assistance, and early childhood education, making a positive impact on our local community.
Who You Are As a Before and Aftercare Teacher, you play a crucial role in creating a learning environment based on sound developmentally appropriate practices.
You adhere to the education, health, safety, and nutritional practices of CAC's Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program.
What You'll Do Implement a Daily Program:
Provide quality teacher and child-initiated activities in both large and small groups, indoor and outdoor play, and ensure timely and predictable transitions.
Supplies Management:
Make timely requisitions for health, safety, and classroom supplies and maintain clean play areas.
Set up and take down equipment as needed.
Documentation and Attendance:
Document attendance and adhere to the ECE student attendance policy.
Professional Conduct:
Represent a positive role model by maintaining the highest level of professional and ethical behavior in interactions with internal and external customers.
Collaboration:
Work cooperatively with all staff, supervisors, administrators, co-workers, community professionals, clients, and the public.
Parental Involvement:
Invite parents to become an integral part of the program, providing opportunities for their participation in classroom and agency activities.
Training and Development:
Attend and participate in in-service training, staff meetings, and other activities for professional development, meeting Maryland Office of Child Care requirements for the Maryland Child Care Credential of Level 3 or higher.
What You Bring Valid high school diploma or GED certificate.
Minimum 19 years old.
45 hours - Child Growth & Development, 45 hours - Preschool Curriculum & Activities, 9 hours - Communication Skills (including all Children and the ADA), Basic Health and Safety Training.

years of experience with children aged three to five.
Proficient in reading, writing, comprehending, and speaking English.
Proficient in Office Suite programs and able to use academic platforms as needed.
Ability to work a split shift schedule, including both morning and afternoon hours.
Ability to maintain a safe environment for up to 22 people, including the physical ability to evacuate students and clients during disaster drills and emergency situations.
Ability to respond quickly to active children, ensuring their safety and the safety of others in the environment.
(Preferred) Child Development Associate preferred.
(Preferred) Early Childhood Education experience.
(Preferred) Data management experience.
(Preferred) College courses in Early Childhood Education.
