Senior Software Engineer will work directly with system architects in order to learn, understand thoroughly, and create the business and technical
services
for a complex implementation.
Ensures that the requirements are accurately depicted in the system design and correctly implemented in the services
Responsible for the development of major technical and business services, overseeing activities of other developers, and participating in source code reviews
Interacts with customers and contractors to ensure all technical deliverables comply with the CMS Expedited Life Cycle (XLC), Technical Reference Architecture (TRA), and other standards
Articulates the context and technical details concerning this complex SOA implementation and responds to stakeholder inquiries/requests regarding implementation
Works with the WebSphere and RAD stack of Java-based technologies to create a state of the art services
He/she must also be comfortable with the agile development processes, participate in daily SCRUM meetings, and adhere to designing, coding, unit-testing, and deployments within monthly agile sprints
Required Experience
10 years of experience in the complete system development lifecycle (SDLC) of J2EE web-based client-server systems
10 years of experience working with and configuring of one or more J2EE Servers: Websphere, Weblogic, Glassfish, Tomcat, JBoss
10 years of experience with Java front-end technologies to include JSP, JavaScript, Spring, Struts/Struts2, AJAX
10 years of experience with relational-database development and programming with JDBC (5 years w/Hibernate)
10 years of experience with UNIX
5 years of experience developing web-services in SOA environment
5 years of JAX-WS experience including SOAP, REST, SAML, WSDL, UDDI
5 years of XML experience including schema design/extensions, XML parsing with SAX/DOM/JAXB, XSLT
5 years of experience with version control systems, such as CVS or Subversion
5 years of experience developing with Java Message Service (JMS) API and MQ
2 years of experience with java SFTP Client or secure channel
At least 1 year of experience with EDI/X12, X12/274 and X12/278 preferred
In-depth understanding of newest Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE 6)
Understanding of WS-Security, including SSL/TSL, addressing, SAML, JAAS/LDAP
Proven ability to work within agile process framework, including SCRUM and sprints
Experience in designing, developing, testing, and integrating web services into a large application
Proven ability to use UML to create technical design diagrams
Proven ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, and to present ideas clearly
Desired Skills and
Experience:
Experience with federal Medicare and state Medicaid/CHIP systems, commercial insurance systems, or related federal health systems; familiarity with CMS 3-zone architecture is a plus
Familiarity with the following tools and technologies will be a PLUS: zLinux, Oracle, SOAP UI, Eclipse based IDE, WebSphere Application Server, Rules Engine
Familiarity with 508 requirements
WAS clustering, MQ clustering
Advanced web development with DOJO/AJAX
Familiarity with EDI/X12, processing and translating would be a big plus
Ability to create product documentation, UML, deliverable design artifacts
Use of collaborative agile tools, such as Team Forge (or other)
Ability to work within scrum agile process
Ability to resolve issues and overcome sprint roadblocks
Experience in training and educating junior development resources, providing guidance
