The National Security Sector for Leidos (formerly SAIC) has an opening for a Database Engineer in our Columbia, Maryland location.
JOB
Summary:
The Database Engineer will provide technical expertise for database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis. The successful candidate will work primarily at the front end of the lifecycle-requirements through system acceptance testing and Initial Operational Capability (IOC).
PRIMARY
Responsibilities:
Lead development of databases, database parser software, and database loading software
Lead development of database structures that fit into the overall architecture of the system under development
Develop requirement recommendations from a project's inception to its conclusion for a particular Business and IT subject matter area (i.e. simple to complex systems)
Develop a database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and has to make trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls
Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university. 5 years of additional database engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for the degree requirement.

years of related experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government. A Master's degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience reducing the requirement to 3 years of experience.
Currently possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Prior experience with current government customer.
