Software Engineer III - Systems Engineer

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer who is passionate about software security. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing requirements for government certifications, as well as the Cisco Security Development Lifecycle (CSDL), to understand how they apply to Cisco's NGFW implementation. The candidate will generate engineering requirement documents, implement appropriate changes, and work with key stakeholders to design, scope, and schedule changes that span multiple teams.
Responsibilities:
Generate engineering requirement documents based on security compliance guidelines
Design and develop features required to meet government certification
Coordinate security designs, scope, schedules, and testing with key stakeholders across multiple teams
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, related field, or experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to learn new skills and apply them quickly
Ability to triage and prioritize multiple issue simultaneously
Demonstrable proficiency in Linux system administration
Experience writing and maintaining Linux shell scripts
4
years experience in commercial software development or advanced degree
Desired knowledge, skills and abilities:
Knowledge of network security concepts
Experience with secure development methodologies
Familiar with various security and compliance specifications
Familiar with various cryptography and hashing algorithms
