Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) mission is to keep our Market Place happy and healthy ensuring a maintained state of stability, reliability and performance for . The SRE will develop a diverse set of cutting edge enterprise monitoring tools to improve our ability to effectively monitor rapid deployments and custom applications in a large-scale complex environment. Youre skills as a highly driven operations expert will be used to work with our development teams to identify and resolve a wide range of production problems.
Responsibilities:
Serve as primary person accountable for all aspects of enterprise stability, performance, and capacity of our systems
Gain in-depth knowledge of our complex applications and infrastructure
Lead restoration efforts by facilitating as incident manager and putting in motion next steps to get us back to healthy in an effective and efficient manner
Assist leadership by advising on areas of improvement based on performance data
Coordinate implementation and deployment of new product features and installations of develop tools to improve our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor multi-tier environment
Owner of all alerts and escalations in customer facing production environment
Participate in / lead root cause analysis and resolution (Problem Management)
Partner with teams across the Market Place Systems focused on Federally Facilitated Exchange (FFE) and Data Services Hub (DSH).
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for second-tier and third-tier escalations
Minimum
Qualifications:
Experienced Incident Manager with the ability to identify production issues, quantify impact, and provide triage support to incident resolution
Expert level knowledge of system monitoring tools such as Gomez, Keynote, Splunk, Dynatrace, SiteScope, Nagios, New Relic, Tivoli, Chartbeat, Google Analytics
Ability to identify, analyze, and translate monitoring data generated by monitoring systems
Highly analytical thinker with problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Prior experience in an internet-facing web role supporting environments with many key operation groups
Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux systems knowledge and/or systems administration background
Working knowledge of: Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent work experience
Understanding of Akamai and/or Fastly
Knowledge of diagnostic tools including HTTPWatch, HTTPfox, Fiddler2. Charles, RESTclient, CookiesManager, ModifyHeaders, Revolver
