Position Overview
Fiducial is looking for an experienced PHP Developer for Columbia, MD office to design, develop and support proprietary stand-alone applications. Test software during development and changes; review/write software development instructions and documentation; work to continually improve processes, tools and documentations. Project ownership and understanding users' business needs is a must.
In this role the developer will be an integral part of our Software Development team, working on the development of new functions and enhancements to current software applications as well as production support and maintenance. The software team interacts with clients and end users providing technical support and troubleshooting. In addition, the Software Developer tests software, reviews and writes instructions, provides documentation, trains others and conducts presentations as needed.
Desired Skills/ Experience/Attributes
Proficiency in PHP (object based programming), SQL and JavaScript with a minimum 3
years of full-time professional experience
Experienced with SOA, Symfony or other PHP framework, MVC, JSON, HTML5, CSS, XML, JQuery
Experience with accounting/payroll systems software is a plus
Experience in following is a plus. - Apache, Visual Studio, PhpStorm, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, AJAX, Git, SugarCRM or other PHP based Open source CRM or applications
Proficiency in the French Language a plus
The ideal candidate for this position:
Is accustomed to full life cycle software development, and maintaining current software applications while providing operational support.
Should be comfortable with gathering and creating requirements/design documents.
Should be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with good organizational and prioritization skills.
Possess the ability to develop applications with limited written specifications.
Experience with accounting systems software is preferred
Tests software during development and makes recommendations for adjustments or improvements.
Is customer service oriented, answers support calls and/or email from business end users
Uses good communications skills to interface with end users on daily basis and good documentation skills to track issues and identify potential development issues
Is experienced working on a team, defining tasks, and sharing project responsibilities as well as working independently.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred
