Mandarin Chinese Lab Instructor Pool - Howard Community College
Job Description:
The World Languages area at Howard Community College is seeking creative, outgoing individuals to be included in a pool to hire Mandarin Chinese Lab Instructors. Lab Instructors teach or co-teach the fifty-minute Lab component of the Mandarin Chinese class. They create and lead activities that bring students to practice what is being learned in class through oral/aural-focused activities and conversation and evaluate students' speaking and listening abilities. This pool will be utilized to fill Lab Instructor openings and will be accessed when a need arises.
Requirements:
Required:
Bachelor's degree required.
Communicative ability in English, advanced ability in Mandarin Chinese, ability to use common language technology, and some teaching or tutoring experience.
Preferred:
Master's degree, teaching experience, and experience using media and technology in the classroom.
Additional Information:
Hours Per Week: Varies based on need. Approximately 1-5 hours per week.
Work Schedule: Varies based on need.
