IT Business Analyst Financial/Accounting Systems Primary Responsibilities /
Qualifications:
The candidate will support various C&S, E&I, Dental, Vision, and the Financial Accounting suite of applications as a business/accounting Subject Matter Expert.
Candidate will contribute to test planning and execution, will be responsible for solution review, user story and acceptance criteria creation, test results acceptance, and collaborating with key business stakeholders to understand their needs and to share results.
Candidate will need to learn both technical and accounting aspects of the systems, data, and business processes.
Candidate will also work with and provide support to other Financial, Reporting, and Regulatory teams as needed.
Description Utilize systems and automation to drive and improve accurate general ledger activity and financial reporting Promote financial data integrity, controls, compliance, and auditability between our accounting applications, upstream sources, downstream Financial Systems, and the General Ledger Take a key role in supporting projects as a Subject Matter Expert including requirements analysis, writing and execution of test cases, and modification of business processes and collaborate with IT to recommend solutions Operate in an Agile Environment Help create User Stories for User Acceptance Testing and complete UAT testing Drive process improvements including developing innovative approaches for increased efficiency and effectiveness Audit newly implemented plans and contracts for financial reporting impacts; share new policy data with other team members to ensure FTS Tagging is set up appropriately Accept & track financial reporting errors identified by the Accounting staff relating to case installation issues Perform root-cause analysis and collaborate with various departments to resolve case installation or other underlying issues.
Conduct meetings to share information and review status updates for all projects, tagging, and new business configuration, including issue tracking and resolutions Support the integration of financial systems for new acquisitions Report on operational issues, project, and testing status to management Support project intake and triage Master knowledge of the systematic processing of financial data from upstream source systems through our accounting functions/systems to downstream sources along with supporting business processes Utilize querying tools to perform testing, analyze and research production issues, and share data with accounting stakeholders
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent work experience 3
years of experience working with supporting financial systems interfaces Experience working with both IT and Accounting personnel on software development projects Advanced proficiency in MS Excel with ability to learn additional data access skills/languages.
Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to automate processes Track record of delivering high quality results Ideal candidate for this role has accounting experience or education but is interested in utilizing systems and automation to drive and enhance financial reporting Experience with querying large data sets Able to work independently, as well as collaborate with various teams Demonstrates critical thinking and intellectual curiosity with the ability resolve issues/questions Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail Ability to internalize, interpret and document complex scenarios clearly and concisely Strong time management, prioritization, and organization skills Self-confident with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances Energetic and forward-thinking team player High ethical standards Preferred Understanding of SAS and/or SQL Experience with MS Access Healthcare or insurance industry Understanding of data storage structures Experience working in an Agile environment Position Success Factors:
