MacOS Systems Administrator & Upper School 1:1 Program Coordinator

Heathwood Hall Episcopal School Columbia, SC United States Heathwood Hall is seeking a talented and experienced individual to be part of a highly-functioning Technology Team.
The Technology Team serves all aspects of the school, operations to academics, and its members wear many hats.
The MacOS Systems Administrator & Upper School 1:
1 Program Coordinator works closely with the Director of Information Services to manage the fleet of 150 MacBook computers from deployment to ensuring a great user experience, manage our 1:
1 laptop program in the Upper School (Grades 9-12), provide support and training for the classroom instructional technology, and support a variety of campus events with basic A/V needs.
This position offers an ambitious technologist the opportunity to work on a collaborative team in a supportive community while applying his or her talents in an educational setting for the purpose of enhancing the experience for all students, faculty, and staff.

This year-round position is full-time, benefits eligible, and non-exempt.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Deploy, support, maintain, and manage a fleet of 150 MacBook computers for faculty and staff.
Work with the Director of Information Services to enhance the faculty experience, considering all aspects of campus technology to build a more supportive and effective computing ecosystem for our users.
Provide proactive ideas and solutions to help in planning and troubleshooting.
When necessary, communicate pertinent information to faculty for both troubleshooting and preventive service.
Direct and manage the 1:
1 laptop program For 2021-2022 the grades 10-11 will continue in our 1:
1 Bring Your Own Laptop program.
9 th grade students will begin a transition to a 1:
1 MacBook program (this program will grow each year to include the next-up grade level.
) Work closely with the Director of Information services to organize and plan for all aspects of the program and the growth of the 1:
1 MacBook program from year to year.
Communicate to families and faculty important organizational information about the program and individually about issues that arise.
Troubleshoot student issues and, for the school-owned MacBooks, manage all repairs and replacements of MacBooks with Apple Inc.
Provide primary support and training for classroom instructional technology to include:
classroom displays, classroom interactive displays, Apple TVs, document cameras, and classroom audio.
Audio/Visual Support and Campus Events Provide basic training and support of campus audio/visual needs around campus:
microphone and audio setups for large gatherings, basic video production from camera work to editing.
Assist with events, beyond the classroom, around campus (auditorium, Dining Commons, etc.
) throughout the day and occasionally after school hours.
Act as a strong, reliable, and self-motivated member of a hard-working Technology Team that works collaboratively to meet the needs of the entire campus:
faculty, staff, and students.
Depending on the successful candidates experience and interest, teaching a technology-related course is possible.
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Expertise in MacOS.
Experience in using Mobile Device Management (MDM) for deployment and management of MacOS.
Experience in troubleshooting Mac and Windows computers.
Experience with teaching or working with school-aged students is preferred.
Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
Proven track record as an ambitious, self-starting, worker with a dedication to meeting deadlines.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated success as a confident problem solver.
Good at working in a collaborative and supportive team environment and focused on providing an excellent user experience for users.
Outside travel is occasionally required around the outdoor campus This position will occasionally require work that happens outside the regular work day, weekends and evenings, some of which is planned and some in response to technical issues that were not predictable.
Work will also require physical activity to include traveling around a large campus and lifting equipment.
The Technology Department at Heathwood Hall Director of Information Services The Dir.
of Information Services works collaboratively with the Associate Director of Technology to provide leadership and vision for technology.
This position includes other administrative responsibilities as a member of the schools Advancement Team.
The Technical Support Leader This person has the primary role of technical support across campus; working closely with the rest of the team to provide excellent technical support to all users across the many systems and individual needs.
This role has also become important in our makerspace working collaboratively to provide a rich experience for students.
The Network Administrator/Systems Manager The Network Administrator/Systems Manager is the lead on core elements of infrastructure and computer systems on campus.
This role provides day-to-day management and maintenance of wired and wireless networking, disaster and recovery, databases, Windows systems, as well as planning for long-term growth and reliability of these systems.
Computer Science Teacher/Makerspace Coordinator In the current configuration, the Computer Programming teacher also plays an instrumental role in our Makerspace to round out the full-time responsibilities as a member of the Technology Team.
The Computer Science teacher currently carries a 3-4 class workload as their primary responsibility.
The Academic Technology Specialist This person is the lead person on campus promoting the effective and meaningful integration of technology into the classroom, both in student work and faculty instruction.
This person is also the lead on our 1:
1 iPad program which covers grades 3-8 and has connected elements in grades K-2.
This person also teaches technology classes to students in grades 5-8.
This role has also become important in our makerspace working collaboratively to provide a rich experience for students.
