Director / Sports Coach - Recreation & Parks

POSITION SUMMARY/CLASS DESCRIPTION BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
County instructional sports programs and camps are offered for youth sports participants.
Activities include a variety of sports and games.
DUTIES:
Organize, instruct and supervise an instructional sports program or camp Supervise staff and volunteers.
Coordinate daily lesson plans to show progression of skill.
Complete written reports as needed and attend scheduled meetings when necessary Maintain positive communication with parents, school staff, the public and Sports Coordinator Responsible for the safety and general welfare of the program and participants.
Responsible for supervision of inclusion companion(s) and/or interpreter, completion of evaluation reports, and verification of companion timecards.
Must satisfy requirements of the Recreation and Parks Coaches Registry upon employment and prior to being scheduled by supervisor.
Coaches Registry requirements include completion of the American Sport Education Program and recommended Concussion in Youth Sport exams.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
(Must be 18 years old) Sound philosophy of coaching and teaching with emphasis on fun and development of skills Personal skills in sports specific to position Ability to teach sports skills to children in age appropriate settings Ability to teach sports skills with introductions, demonstrations, verbal instructions, give positive and effective feedback to participants and parents Knowledge of age and ability adaptations for activities to ensure equal participation and success.
Ability to communicate and gain control over a large group of children.
Experience:
Instructor I:
Background in coaching sports skills or leading children's activities, history of participation in specific sports.
Meets Coaches Registry requirements.
Instructor II:
CPRand First Aidcertified.
InstructorIII:
Relevant specialized experience and/or holds a certification in their respective sport.
Instructor IV:
Has tenyears of experience and specialized education/training.
EDUCATION:
Background in Recreation or Physical Education.
RATE OF PAY:
Contingent - Salary commensurate with experience Sports Instructor I:
Minimum Wage to $12.
00 / hour (Paraprofessional) Sports Instructor II:
$12.
00 - $15.
00 / hour (Paraprofessional) Sports Instructor III:
$13.
00 - $19.
50 / hour (Professional) Sports Instructor IV:
$19.
75 - $32.
00 / hour (Professional).
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
