Job Description The Process Design Engineer will have direct responsibility for the Process Engineering function as it relates to capital projects.
This opportunity has the ability to work remotely and travel to the various Grace sites both domestic and international.
The individual will direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of process scopes and related documents within area of assigned responsibility.
The Process Design Engineer must have a thorough understanding of process equipment design including pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, etc.
Must be able to apply process tools to design piping systems, complete material and energy balances, and perform process optimization studies.
Individual will coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design issues.
Duties and skills for the Process Design Engineer include:
Evaluates and approves process design changes and specifications.
Develops in collaboration with Process Technology, Business Units and Operations and assures adherence to a standard Basis of Design (BoD) package which includes Scope of Work, PFDs, P&ID's and material balances.
Develops alternatives analysis (FEL-1 studies) to evaluate options (technically and economically) and recommends the best solution; continues to develop front end packages.
Directing integration of process design activities and production requirements into capital projects Developing equipment and services bid documentation and reviewing vendor quotations and issues procurement recommendations.
Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
Evaluating EH&S design requirements and ensuring adherence to corporate policies Participates as engineering representative in PHA's (Process Hazard Analysis) Leading/participating in various project and kickoff meetings throughout project life cycle.
Providing assistance in the development of the capital and operating budgets.
Leads start up activities for the assigned projects and supports startups company wide Prioritizing workloads and effectively managing 3rd party engineering teams to execute assigned workloads.
Firm understanding and compliance to the Grace Project Methodology (GPM) process Required Experience BS degree in Chemical Engineering 5
years' experience in process design and process engineering work in the chemical industry Must have proven ability to execute front end design for capital projects with strong oral/written communication skills and the ability to interact and work in a team environment If remote work is desired, will need to be able to travel up to 50-60% of the time Preferred Qualifications An understanding of Specialty Catalyst process technology/unit ops and operations experience within these operating areas #WRGRACE Grace is not accepting unsolicited assistance from search firms for this employment opportunity.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
